Your destinies are village, family, alone and none. When you right-click the enchantment table you choose your name that the villagers call you, your gender, your preferred gender and what destiny you want to start as. When you right-click the ball you go into a room with an enchantment table. When you spawn you receive a crystal ball (Note: this does not work on servers. These new villagers are like normal villagers except you can be friends, enemies, a spouse or parents to them.
